| For decades the elderly have often been treated as second class citizens by many Defendants, which is very unfortunate. Often when an older person is injured, the owner of the location or person that caused or contributed to the injury attempts to place the blame elsewhere, specifically upon the elderly adult. The insurance companies often attempt to even further demean the injured elderly person by suggesting that an injured person that is older has less time to live therefore their injuries are worth less. This attitude is not acceptable. Just the opposite is true. Since an elderly injured person has less time to spend with their family then that time is more precious and should be compensated accordingly. | |||
